Export and shipping policy

Greenfields Africa is dedicated to ensuring that all beef exports meet international standards for quality, safety, and traceability. This export policy outlines the procedures and requirements for exporting beef from South Africa, emphasizing compliance with health and safety regulations, effective logistics management, and the use of export market agents.

For any questions regarding this export policy or related inquiries about our products and services, please contact our customer service team directly at [insert contact information]. Thank you for choosing Greenfields Africa!

Compliance with regulations

  1. Health and Safety Standards: All beef products must comply with South African health and safety regulations as well as the specific requirements of the destination country. This includes adherence to the Veterinary Procedural Notice 59 (VPN 59) biosecurity protocol, which outlines necessary measures for safe export.
  2. Traceability System: Greenfields Africa will implement a robust traceability system that tracks each animal from birth to slaughter. This system will integrate with the Livestock Identification and Traceability System (LITS) to ensure complete transparency in the supply chain.
  3. Quarantine and Testing: All animals must undergo a quarantine period and be tested for specific diseases before being approved for export. This step is crucial to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure that only healthy animals are processed for export.

Risk management

Recognising potential challenges in exporting beef, Greenfields Africa will implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with:

  • Price Volatility: Utilising long-term contracts with buyers to stabilise prices.
  • Exchange Rate Fluctuations: Engaging in currency hedging strategies to protect against adverse currency movements.
  • Transportation Costs: Optimising supply chain efficiency to reduce transportation costs.
